Lucius Tarquinius Superbus, commonly known as Tarquinn the Proud, was the last king of Rome, who became
king in 535 BC.   His grandfather was Lucius Tarquinius Priscus, the fifth king of Rome.  Lucius Tarquinius was not popular among the people of Rome and is a power hungry man.  He betrayed and murdered Servius Tullius, his father in law, so that he could ascend to the throne.  Tarquinn was overthrown by Lucius Junius Brutus, who founded the Roman Republic.
